Ingredients

  • 3 large apples optional
  • 2 (21-ounce) cans apple pie filling
  • 1 (15.25-ounce) box white yellow, or spice cake mix
  • 3/4 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • On a cutting board with a sharp knife, peel the apples, remove the core, dice into bite-sized pieces, and then spread the diced apples on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Add the apple pie filling to the top of the diced apple layer.
  • Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top of the apple pie filling layer. Note: Do not combine the dry cake mix with the apple layers.
  • Evenly pour the melted butter all over the top of the dry cake mix layer and ensure there are no dry spots.
