- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt divided

- 1 1/2 pounds chicken breasts boneless and skinless, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons canola or peanut oil plus more, to taste
- 3/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup hot pepper sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper optional
- 1/2 cup scallions thinly sliced

Directions
