Recipe Background
Mermaid Water blends layers of tropical and berry flavors with visual flair.
Crafting Mermaid Water offers a refreshing escape that feels a bit like magic in a glass. The layers create a visual treat—bright, inviting hues blending like a watercolor painting. As you pour, pineapple's tropical aroma mingles with the crisp scent of berry, a welcoming invitation to sip and savor.
The drink's texture is light and vibrant. Each layer brings its own touch, from the tangy-sweet top notes of pineapple juice to the berry-flavored sports drink's subtle tartness. These flavors weave seamlessly, creating a sensation akin to a cool sea breeze. To achieve those Instagram-worthy layers, pour slowly along the back of a spoon. It’s a little trick that prevents the liquids from mixing too soon.
Mermaid Water is as much about sharing as it is about sipping. Hand a glass to a friend, and watch the smile as the colors dance together. This drink captures a spirit of fun and casual creativity—perfect for a sunny afternoon or a festive gathering, making every moment feel a little more special.
Ingredients
- ice cubes to taste
- pineapple juice to taste
- sports drink no-sugar, berry-flavored, to taste
- sports drink glacier freeze flavor, to taste
Directions
- In a tall glass, add the ice cubes, filling completely to the top.
- If using a straw, add the straw now in order to not disturb the layering process.
- Add the pineapple juice to the ice, filling the glass a little over 1/3 full.
- Very slowly, using the back of a small spoon to better control the slow pouring, trickle the berry sports drink over the pineapple juice, filling the glass about 3/4 full. Make sure to pour down the sides of the glass slowly to help with the layering.
- Slowly add the glacier freeze sports drink on top of the berry sports drink and the two sports drinks will slightly mix, creating an ombre effect, while still remaining separate from the pineapple juice.
- Serve!
