Recipe Background

Italian Roll-Ups offer savory layers of meats and cheeses, paired with fresh veggies, all enveloped in soft tortillas for easy preparation and delightful taste.
Easy Italian Roll-Ups bring a taste of Italy with a playful twist. Envision the tortillas as blank canvases, eagerly absorbing the creamy tang of softened cream cheese mixed with a zesty blend of Parmesan and Italian panko breadcrumbs. Finely chopped roasted red and banana peppers introduce just the right amount of tang to create a symphony of flavors that nestle perfectly into each other. It’s as if a deli and a pizzeria had a charming, edible baby, layered lovingly. Salami and pepperoni add a savory punch, and the satisfying crunch of fresh romaine completes each bite.
These roll-ups are as simple to make as they are delightful to devour. No cooking degree needed—just a willingness to embrace a bit of organized chaos. The assembly is half the fun; aligning each colorful ingredient brings out an inner artist. The irresistible aroma when slicing these into pinwheels is just the beginning. Share them around, and you’ll watch eyes light up faster than you can say ‘antipasto’! Perfect for picnics, parties, or just a cozy night in.
Don't forget to let them chill for a bit before serving; this brief wait not only enhances their flavors but also makes them perfectly solid and ready to slice into adorable, bite-sized swirls. A simple indulgence that brings a slice of Italy straight to your table, with plenty of room for laughter in the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup Italian-flavored panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese finely grated
  • 2/3 cup jarred roasted red peppers finely chopped
  • 2/3 cup jarred banana peppers finely chopped
  • 3 large flour tortillas
  • 9 slices cheese of your choice
  • 8 ounces salami
  • 30 slices pepperoni
  • romaine lettuce leaves to taste

Directions

  • In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, the breadcrumbs, the parmesan, the red peppers, and the banana peppers until well-combined.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over each of the tortillas
  • In the center of each tortilla, place 3 slices of the cheese next to each other.
  • Layer the salami over the tortillas so the tortillas are completely covered.
  • Layer the pepperoni slices over the salami, trying to cover the salami as much as possible.
  • Place the lettuce leaves on top of the pepperoni.
  • Starting with the end closest to you, tightly roll up each of the tortillas.
  • Wrap each tortilla with plastic wrap to help the rolls keep their shape.
  • Refrigerate until the rolls are cool, about 1 hour.
  • Slice the rolls into pinwheels to about 1-inch thick. You can use toothpicks for serving and keeping the pinwheels closed.
  • Serve.
