Recipe Background
This bacon & eggs ring combines crispy bacon, creamy eggs, and flaky crescent dough for a savory breakfast treat.
There's nothing quite like the classic pairing of bacon and eggs, but this bacon & eggs ring adds a twist that feels perfect for a leisurely morning. The aroma of crisp turkey bacon fills the kitchen, mingling wonderfully with the comforting scent of freshly baked crescent rolls. As it bakes, the dough turns golden, promising a flaky bite that's both savory and satisfying. Don't rush the initial cook: let your bacon turn crispy for a satisfying crunch.
As you slice into the ring, a cascade of creamy scrambled eggs meets the eye, interwoven with streaks of melted cheddar. The eggs, soft yet fully set, offer a rich and buttery taste, enhanced by a light dusting of salt and pepper. The melted butter brushed atop the dough wraps everything in a glistening, flavorful finish. It’s an experience that goes beyond taste, as the texture contrasts between the crisp bacon, soft eggs, and flaky pastry create something truly memorable.
Perfect for sharing with loved ones, this dish invites everyone to gather round, enjoy slices of warmth and comfort. The preparation feels nostalgic yet fresh—simple enough for anyone to try, yet impressive enough to be the star of a brunch spread. Just remember to seal those crescent seams for a ring that holds together beautifully, ensuring each slice offers a balanced bite.
Ingredients
- 1/2 package turkey bacon
- 8-10 eggs
- 2 packages crescent roll dough
- cheddar cheese to taste, shredded
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- butter to taste, melted
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy, then transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate.
- In the same skillet, scramble the eggs until they are set and cooked through.
- Place the crescent roll triangles on an ungreased baking sheet so the wider end of the crescent is in the center, forming a circle with a 5-inch opening in the center and the smaller tip of the crescent is on the outside. The wider ends of the crescents will overlap.
- Use a dough roller to press down on the overlapped seams to seal them.
- Arrange the scrambled eggs onto the dough, then top with the bacon.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the bacon and season with the salt and the pepper.
- Fold up the dough triangles over the egg mixture and tuck the points into the dough on the other side.
- Use a basting brush to brush the melted butter onto the dough.
- Season the ring with the salt and the pepper.
- Bake the ring in the oven until golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.
- Transfer the ring from the oven and slice with a pizza cutter.
- Serve.
